Comparative Analysis of Software Innovation of Lower Middle Income Countries Using Github Data
This research project focused on developing a sophisticated metric to analyze software development across Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). It emphasizes the importance of accurate measurement tools for policymakers to make informed decisions about technology investment and policy. Utilizing GitHub’s Innovation Graph and the Global Innovation Index (GII), the research aims to rank LMICs based on active developer accounts and their activity levels over the past five years, examine the correlation between software development and economic growth, and compare these findings with GitHub’s reports and GII metrics to understand technological progress in these countries.
