Alzheimer’s disease prediction

Studies suggest that each year, 10% to 15% patients are diagnosed with dementia, and one-third of the patients suffer from mild cognitive impairment (MCI) due to Alzheimer’s disease before developing dementia.

Individuals who have dementia lose their cognitive ability, independence, and emotional well-being. Dementia not only poses threats to the patients but also creates social and emotional challenges for caregivers and society. Studies suggest that early prediction of dementia can assist patients in better management of dementia at a later age, improving the quality of life.

This project aims to develop clinical phenotyping methods to predict Alzheimer’s disease at a very early stage, when patients suffer from mild cognitive impairment, using multi-modal datasets.
